Join MacConmara Academy of Irish Dance in Summit County, Ohio for Adult Dance Classes, Summer Events and More

Sharing the joy of Irish dance with others is MacConmara Academy of Irish Dance’s main goal. This Summit County, Ohio organization makes it possible for dancers of all ages and skill levels to learn the techniques involved with Irish dance so they may perform in Irish dance shows, participate in competitions and just have fun with this unique hobby. Not only does MacConmara Academy invite little dancers from Portage County, Ohio and Stark County, Ohio to train with them, but they offer adult dance classes for older individuals who want to study the craft as well. Whether you’re a parent of an aspiring dancer or you’re intrigued by the idea of learning the traditional Irish jig, MacConmara Academy has something for you! With this being the summer season, there’s no better time to start getting involved with MacConmara Academy. So, why not take a moment to read up on some of their upcoming events like their summer dance camp and dance studio open house?

For dancers wanting to do some additional training during the summer season, MacConmara Academy of Irish Dance will be running their summer dance camp from August 5th-8th at their location in Green. The class for beginners will be held from 1-2:30pm and will give newcomers the opportunity to learn the basics of this art form. Those with previous Irish dancing experience will still get plenty out of the summer dance camp as they will be able to further their studies between regular classes. Plus, there will be plenty of fun activities to take advantage of before and after classes! The final showcase will be held on Thursday, August 8th after classes. Parents and friends will be able to see just what their dancers have learned during the week. It’s sure to be a great Irish dance show that people won’t want to miss!

Adult dance classes are also held year-round on Wednesdays at 7:30pm. Whether you’ve always wanted to learn the art of Irish dance, you’re currently looking for a fun way to get some exercise, or your little one just talked up their classes so much that you want to give it a try, you can receive instruction from MacConmara’s experienced teachers.

Of course, you can always get a glimpse at what Irish dance entails before you sign up for MacConmara’s adult dance classes. They will be having their “Taste of Hudson” show on Labor Day. Featuring MacConmara’s dance team, Celtic Storm, this event will allow spectators to view an Irish dance show up close. The dancers in Celtic Storm always put on a terrific show, so even if you’re not interested in dancing yourself, it’s well worth a trip to see them in person!

In addition to the aforementioned events, MacConmara Academy of Irish Dance will also be having their dance studio open house later this summer. Parents of aspiring dancers will have the opportunity to meet teachers and booster club members, glance over the costumes their dancers wear, take in a show performed by championship level dancers, and even learn the traditional Irish jig! A night filled with refreshments, helpful information and fun, this dance studio open house is a great way for parents to sign up their children and start getting involved with MacConmara. In fact, parents can pay during the open house to save $10 on September’s tuition and even become a member of MacConmara Volunteer Parents. This group helps to support the MacConmara dancers by holding fundraisers, organizing events and encouraging community members throughout the Stark County, Summit County and Portage County areas to watch them perform.
