AN INTERVIEW WITH WANDA BRUNSTETTER

Wanda Brunstetter is an award-winning writer and author of almost 50 books with a combined total of over 5 million copies sold. Wanda likes to write about the Amish and helped pioneer the Amish fiction genre. Her first novel about the Amish was published by Barbour Publishing in 1997. Most of her books are about the Amish, including a series of children’s picture books featuring mischievous Rachel Yoder. She has also written two Amish cookbooks as well as three books of devotions, numerous short stories, articles, poems and puppet plays.
When Wanda met her husband, Richard, she became interested in the Amish culture. Her husband was raised in the Mennonite church and his family is part of the Pennsylvania Dutch heritage. Wanda and her husband like to travel. Their many visits to Amish communities helped them develop friendships with Amish people across the country. Wanda became even more interested in the Amish faith when she found out her great-great grandparents were Anabaptists. Wanda does all the research for her novels.
